We will be working with the Sauk River Watershed District to collect water quality samples roughly every mile of our journey.
The Sauk River Watershed District extends from the Mississippi River near St. Cloud into eastern portions of Douglas County to within 3 miles of Alexandria. The watershed, like the Sauk River, extends in a northwest to southeast direction. The overall watershed is about 75 miles in length with some areas being up to 20 to 30 miles in width.
If you would like to learn more about what the Watershed District does, you can check out their website by clicking here, Sauk River Watershed District.

We will once again be working with Professor Chuck Rose and the Environmental and Technological Studies at St. Cloud State University to collect water quality samples on the entire length of the Sauk River. Previously we have worked with Professor Rose to collect and analyze water samples during our Hudson Bay Expedition 2005 (www.hudsonbayexpedition.com).
We will be camping at several Stearns County Parks along our route. If you would like to check out the wonderful opportunities the Stearns County Park Department has to offer you can click here, Stearns County Parks.
